Thanks to everyone for collecting the plastic bottle tops, we certainly have been making great use of them in Art club. So far we have used them to make a seahorse and a couple of whales and they have been great for adding eyes to lots of the other fish we have been making.
We have also been using tissue paper to create fish pictures, the club was starting to feel like we were in the ocean with all the sea creature art we have been making recently. All of this will be on display at the Newport show in a couple of weeks.
We used cardboard from cereal boxes, postal boxes, food cartons to cut into squares and then painted swirls on the carboard. When the swirls dried we used a template to paint a swirl of fish to create some beautiful art.
We used paint pens to paint seashells. Using the lines on the shells topaint along and create beautiful patterns.
In Art club we have started to create art using a variety of recycling to make some super shark pictures. We started by painting newspaper to create coloured backgrounds and the sharks mouth. We added interesting texture to the newspaper and made bubbles using glue stick lids and pen lids. We then cut out shapes from the newspaper to make our sharks and added bottle lids for the eyes.
We used large plastic bottles and cut these into fish shapes for the children to paint. When they dried we used plastic bottle tops for eyes.
We have been looking at creatures from the ocean and had a go at drawing some Jellyfish using pastel chalks.
We used carboard boxes to cut out fish shapes and wax crayons to create scales and patterns on the fish. We then chose to either paint over the top with ink or with acrylic paint pens.
We used plastic tubs and cut strips from carrier bags to make plastic jellyfish.
We have been started making chick paintings, drawing chicks, making chicks and colouring in chick pictures.
We had an explosion of colour following painting a piece of card with water and dropping ink on to the paper. The children were amazed how the ink spread and the effect it created. After their paper dried they cut out their favourite parts of the paper to create leaves and a stalk to end up with some stunning tulip art.
Using pen and ink wed created a wonderful winter tree landscape. Using tape as a resist to form the silver birch trees.
