PSHE

At Church Aston, we believe that Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE) is an area that runs throughout our whole curriculum and our daily school life. We link our PSHE to our wider half termly topics but also to events and specific times within the school calendar for example Walk to School Week. We aim to ensure children have opportunity to form caring relationships where they feel confident to listen and share ideas and opinions on a range of PSHE topics in order that they can widen their understanding of themselves and others. We aim for this development of positive relationships and attitudes to give children a sense of belonging and pride in themselves and their school. Our aim is for them to have a clear understanding of how to be responsible in a range of contexts including the wider world, how to make appropriate choices for example with healthy eating and how to keep themselves safe including being safe online. Our Sex and Relationships Education is based on the scheme ‘Respect Yourself’ (Shropshire Council), and teaches children about keeping healthy and having positive relationships
